The COVID-19 pandemic has had serious consequences in addition to the tragic health related losses. With a steep increase in homelessness concurrent with a sharp decrease in available shelter beds, ARCH took on the tremendous task of temporarily housing nearly two thousand people in local hotels and motels. ARCH case managers worked with each household to help transition them to permanent housing, and successfully completed almost a thousand transitions.

ARCH also established ShareHouse, a donation center, so that households can be provided with furniture and basic housewares as they reestablish permanent housing. In 2023, ShareHouse collected over $40,000 in donated goods, served nearly 250 client households, and coordinated with 19 partner agencies.
